Former schoolmates of Frederick Amanor, the policeman who assaulted a woman at the Shiashie branch of Midlands Savings and Loans have described the attack as unfortunate.
The officer, affectionately called Skalla, has been interdicted after a video of him assaulting a nursing mother in the banking hall went viral on social media.
He faces possible disciplinary action from the Ghana Police Service.

One of Mr Amanor’s schoolmates at Yilo Krobo Senior High School, Robert Adu Gyamfi wondered why a man he described as affable could assault the woman the way he did.
He told Accra-based Neat FM in an interview monitored by Adomonline.com that he was shocked over the conduct of the police officer.

“Skalla is a very nice person and a very hard working man who is very good at what he does. He is very affable. We are still in shock and don’t know the demon that caused him to do assault the woman.

While condemning the conduct of Mr Amanor, Mr Adu Gyamfi called for a flexible punishment for him because he suspects he was possessed.
“We know his conduct was very bad and warrants punishment but we plead for a flexible punishment for him,” he appealed.
