Midfielder Forson Amankwah joins Norwich City on a four-year deal

English Championship club, Norwich City has announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah from RB Salzburg.

The 21-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract with an option for an additional year.

“I’m really happy and excited to come to the club,” the promising midfielder said after joining the side.

“The head coach has worked before with so many young players, it’s really nice to be here working with him” he added.

Amankwah, who joined Salzburg in 2021, has gained considerable experience through loan spells at Liefering and Rheindorf Altach.

Last season, he made 27 appearances for Salzburg in various competitions, including his debut in the Champions League.

Amankwah started that, his professional career with WAFA SC in Ghana before moving to Austria.

At Norwich, he will wear the number 18 jersey and is excited to work under the head coach renowned for developing young talent.

The transfer is pending international clearance and approval from the relevant authorities.

Earlier this year, Amankwah earned his first cap for Ghana, playing 88 minutes in friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.
