The presentation of the 2024 mid-year budget review to Parliament has delayed due to the absence of the Minority caucus.
Reports suggest that, the Minority MPs are protesting the delay in the release of their common fund.
Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the Finance Minister, is expected to present the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament today, Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
This presentation aims to update the House on the implementation of the government’s 2024 Budget, provide revised financial plans, and offer an updated economic outlook for Ghana.
In a statement dated Monday, July 22, the Ministry said the review would cover the implementation of the 2024 budget, with insights into the economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year.
It will include updates on growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
The minority members have voiced their dissatisfaction with the delay in the disbursement of the common fund, which they consider essential for executing their parliamentary duties and responsibilities.
However, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, Paul Twum-Barimah informed the media that, the Minority MPs are in a caucus meeting and not boycotting the presentation by the Finance Minister.
