Meteo Service warns of fire hazards during harmattan season

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has warned Ghanaians to be cautious during the harmattan season as fire outbreaks could be rampant.

A statement by the agency said the atmosphere would remain very dry and hazy with drastic reduction in visibility.

It advised Ghanaians to avoid naked fires, especially farmers, hunters, palm wine tappers, smokers and chop bar operators.

Also, Liquefied Petroleum Gas operators have been urged to adhere to safety measures to avoid any fire outbreak.
