Medeama SC fought back from a goal down to claim a 2-1 victory in their outstanding Matchday 21 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Playing at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Tuesday afternoon, the Yellow and Mauve side faced a determined Basake Holy Stars, who took the lead in the 28th minute through midfielder Issah Yakubu.
Medeama, however, responded just before halftime, with defender Kamaradini Mamudu scoring in first-half stoppage time to restore parity.
The home side had an opportunity to go ahead in the 85th minute but failed to convert a penalty. Despite the setback, they kept pressing and were rewarded in the 89th minute when Derrick Fordjour found the net, sealing a dramatic comeback victory.
The crucial win lifts Medeama temporarily to fourth place with 38 points, while Basake Holy Stars remain 13th on the table with 27 points, just six points above the relegation zone as the battle for survival intensifies.
