Medeama SC has officially named Ibrahim Tanko as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The former Ghana Olympic team coach replaces Bosnian tactician Nebojsa Kapor, who mutually parted ways with the club in December 2024.
Interim coach Evans Adotey, who stepped in following Kapor’s departure, has now been reassigned as the team’s technical director.
Tanko, who recently served as the technical director of Accra Lions, brings a wealth of experience to Medeama.
The former Borussia Dortmund star has had an extensive coaching career, having worked in Japan’s J-League and Germany’s Bundesliga.
He has also served as an assistant coach for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions and Ghana’s Black Stars.
The newly appointed coach is set to take charge of his first game when Medeama SC hosts Legon Cities in a Matchday 19 clash at the TnA Stadium.
Medeama currently sits 7th in the Ghana Premier League table with 26 points.
