Marriage wasn’t part of my childhood dreams – Nancy Isime admits

Nigerian actress and media personality Nancy Isime recently shared her unique perspective on marriage and independence.

Unlike many young girls who dream about their wedding day, Isime revealed that her childhood fantasies were focused on working, earning her own money, and achieving independence.

Growing up in a modest household, where asking for anything was often discouraged, Isime developed a strong desire for self-sufficiency.

This upbringing shaped her views on relationships and the importance of being financially independent.

“That’s why I’m such a believer in spending on myself; I spend on myself so much that nobody can take the position of ‘if not me, you won’t have this life.’”

Isime also expressed that if she were to get married, the size and scale of the wedding would not be a priority for her.

Instead, she emphasized that the decision would be based on mutual agreement, whether it’s a big or small celebration.

“I’ve always been that child that always saw myself having my own money. Maybe because I came from a humble background where asking for anything was almost taboo. You’re supposed to know that there is no money, so don’t ask but if we give you, take. I used to be like, ‘I can’t wait to have my own money and do my own thing.”

Over the years, Isime has built a successful career in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She gained recognition after winning the Miss Valentine International Beauty Pageant in 2009 and made her acting debut in 2011 with the TV series Echoes.

Since then, she has starred in several notable Nollywood films, including Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards, The Set Up 2, and Shanty Town.

In addition to acting, Isime is also a well-known TV presenter and has received numerous awards for her contributions to the industry.
