A 33-year-old sawmill operator, Simon Nkrumah, is fighting to save his sight after a heavy wooden log struck his face while working at Pragah, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The incident occurred when a client brought logs from the bush for processing.
While Simon and his colleagues were handling one of the logs, it suddenly flipped off the machine and hit him directly in the face, severely injuring one of his eyes.
He was immediately rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where doctors assessed the extent of the damage before referring him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for specialized treatment.
However, his eyesight continues to deteriorate.
With his vision at serious risk, Simon is appealing for financial support to undergo urgent eye surgery to prevent permanent blindness.
