The ‘Daily Mail’ is reporting that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has banned the use of mobile phones in ‘working spaces’ in an attempt to crack down on his players using too much social media.
Guardiola has banned the use of mobile phones in all working spaces at the club’s training base.
The phone ban includes “working spaces”, such as during analysis sessions, team meetings, the gym and training pitches at the City Football Academy.
The new fines have been brought in to maintain the standards set during their record-breaking season and it is understood that the City players are allowed to use the phones in the changing room.
The fines are a pre-agreed flat fee irrespective of a player’s seniority within the squad or their earnings.
