Man, 22, found dead in abandoned galamsey pit near Fomena

A 22-year-old man, Rockson Gyimah, has been found dead in an abandoned galamsey pit at Old Ayaase near Fomena in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

According to information gathered by Adom News, Rockson was prospecting for gold at the site when the tragic incident occurred.

Police officers who examined the body reported that blood was oozing from his nose, raising concerns about the cause of death.

The body has since been deposited at the Fomena Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
