Police in Bole, Savannah Region, have arrested a 20-year-old unemployed man, Kipo Seidu, for allegedly robbing a woman of her iPhone to gift his girlfriend as a New Year’s present.
According to the victim, who spoke off record, the incident occurred near the Bole Community Centre around 9 PM.
The suspect reportedly approached her, pointed a knife at her neck, and demanded her phone.
Fearing for her life, she handed over the device and later identified the suspect, leading to his arrest.
During police interrogation, Kipo confessed to the crime, admitting that he had already given the stolen phone to his girlfriend as a gift.
Authorities have expressed frustration as the suspect has refused to reveal his girlfriend’s identity or location, complicating efforts to retrieve the phone.
Police confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned before court soon, as investigations continue.
