Make APC the third force – Ayariga tells Ghanaians

-

The flagbearer of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Dr Hassan Ayariga, has urged Ghanaians to make the party the third force in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

According to him, although there are over 70 million registered voters, the number of actual voters at the polls is much lower.

He explained that, many Ghanaians either choose not to vote or are uninterested in voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Ayariga stated that, the APC has positioned itself as an alternative for the number of Ghanaians who do not want to vote for either the NDC or the NPP and called on the public to support the APC in becoming the third force in Ghanaian politics.

“Make us the third force because we are the third force for you. You can’t sit down and think that the third force must come automatically. The third force can only come when you make that decision,” he said during the unveiling of the party’s presidential running mate on Wednesday, September 4.

He noted that APC members had already made their choice, and it is now up to the majority of Ghanaians, who are deciding between the NPP and NDC, to make their decision and elevate the APC as the third force.

“But every time we keep saying if I vote for Hassan Ayariga, I’m wasting my vote. Who said so? If you vote for Hassan Ayariga and the APC, the NDC will not win and the NPP will also not win and we would have to go for a second around,” he said.

The APC flagbearer said that if the APC makes it to the second round of the election, there is a strong possibility that the party could be voted into power.

“You know why? Because the NPP will never endorse the NDC in the second round. That will never happen in this country. Likewise, the NDC will never endorse the NPP in the second round.

“So if we are in the second round, and we are going with either NPP or NDC, we will become the government of the day,” he added.
