President John Mahama returned to Ghana on Wednesday after completing bilateral strengthening trips to Angola, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Briefing the media, acting President’s spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu indicated that an energy summit held in Tanzania provided the Ghanaian delegation with opportunities to draw investments into Ghana’s sector.
The Abura Asebu Kwamankese MP assured Ghanaians that the trips were fruitful and would yield benefits for the country.
President Mahama’s discussions with these African leaders focused on cooperation and exploring new opportunities for growth and development.
As the President and his team return to Ghana, they are expected to begin steps in harnessing all the potentials they have been exposed to.
With these bilateral strengthening trips, President Mahama aims to raise Ghana’s profile among its African counterparts, which is expected to attract investments and partnerships from African countries to help build the continent.
During the trip, President Mahama participated in a High-Level Retreat on African Union (AU) Institutional Reforms, held in Kenya from January 27 to 28, 2025.
The retreat was hosted at the invitation of Kenyan President William Ruto, who has been designated as the African Union Champion.
It brought together African leaders to discuss critical reforms aimed at strengthening the AU’s effectiveness.
During his visit, the President reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with these nations.
