Controversial musician Mzbel has advised former President John Dramani Mahama against contesting the 2020 polls.
It is uncertain if Mr Mahama will make a return to frontline politics after his heavy defeat to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December 2016 election.
However, the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the party Mr Mahama led into the election, are divided on who to lead them.
While some argue Mr Mahama will be the best candidate for the 2020 polls, others are of the opinion he should make way for a fresh face to lead the party.
Mr Mahama has, however, not declared his intent but has said the dynamics of the times will produce the right leader.
But in a Facebook post, the 16 Years hit maker who campaigned vigorously for Mr Mahama ahead of the polls in 2016, advised him not to contest.
“Hmmm so soon people are already asking for u to return in 2020… Medi? I’m really against that! I don’t support cos I believe u should rise above the betrayal and pettiness of Ghanaian politics. U have been accepted by the international community as a spokesman for Africa. Daddy please don’t descend into the Ghanaian gutter. Let those who betrayed you come up with their flag bearer,” she posted.
