Former Deputy Minister of Information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, is questioning the economic acumen of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia three years in office.
In his view, the second gentleman of the land, known as ‘economic wizkid’, has gained “dubious distinction for peddling untruths.”

Mr Ofosu was reacting to a challenge thrown to former President John Mahama to show his legacy while in government.
Dr Bawumia asked Mr Mahama to tell Ghanaians one legacy that he left in Northern Ghana – a challenge the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has adequately answered.

In support, Mr Ofosu on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Wednesday said it was unfortunate the Vice President is usurping the functions of serial callers.
He noted that Dr Bawumia’s penchant to peddle untruths “makes mockery of the office he holds.”
When it comes to economic records, the former Deputy Information Minister said the Vice President is no match for Mr Mahama.

He said Dr Bawumia cannot claim to be the best thing that happened to Ghana because his record as head of the Economic Management Team compared to that of former President Mahama between 2009 and 2012 is bad.
He said the Mahama-led Economic Management Team grew the economy by 4.8%, 10% in 2010 and by 14.4% and 9% in the years 2011 and 2012 respectively.
But, Dr Bawumia in 2017 grew the economy by 8.1%, 6.3% in 2018 and in 2019 it grew by 6.3 %.
Based on this track record, Mr Ofosu stressed that the Vice President has brought the dignity of the Vice Presidency into disrepute.
He charged Dr Bawumia to bring sobriety, candour and depth to the office because “he takes too much delight in propaganda.”
