A leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. George Ayisi Boateng has fired a salvo at the Minority in Parliament for criticizing the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, a government which collapsed Ghana’s economy has no moral right to criticize a government which came to power only a month and a half ago.
The Minority in Parliament at its real State of the Nation’s Address appealed to former President John Mahama to save the country from collapse.
At a news conference to react to President Akufo-Addo’s maiden State of the Nations Address, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament said the President is already fatigued in running the state of affairs of the country.
Singing Kofi Kinata’s Confessions to buttress their point, the Minority said President Mahama must come for the steer because if the status quo remains, Ghana will collapse.
But on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Mr. Ayisi Boateng said the conduct of the Minority smacks of hypocrisy and double standards.
He cited how President Mahama while in office promised to move from first gear to second but “ended up remaining in first gear till the end of his tenure.
The NPP man could not fathom why any right thinking person in the NDC will put pressure on a government moving heaven on earth to correct their mess.
Mr. Ayisi Boateng appealed to the NDC MPs to provide constructive criticisms while in opposition to contribute their quota to nation building.
