Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama visited his late father Emmanuel Adama Mahama’s grave in his family house in Bole ahead of casting his vote.
Accompanied by his daughter, Farida Mahama, and the Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Sulemana Yussif, Mahama offered prayers at the graveside, a tradition he described as deeply rooted in his culture.
Speaking to supporters gathered at the family house, Mahama explained, “It has been a tradition and culture. Many of the people here are my uncles. The belief is that when you are faced with a crisis or anxious about something, you pray to your father’s grave and also say prayers for him, asking for his support in spirit.”
Family members and constituents joined Mahama during the solemn moment as he sought blessings before participating in the elections.
