Mahama to deliver first State of the Nation Address soon – Ofosu Kwakye

Minister of State in charge of government communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has announced that President John Dramani Mahama will soon deliver his first State of the Nation Address.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday after the first cabinet meeting with ministers of state, he stated, “In a few days’ time, President Mahama will address Parliament and deliver a message on the State of the Nation.” However, he did not specify the exact date for the address.

According to him, the President will use the opportunity to provide an in-depth assessment of the country’s current economic situation, outlining the challenges inherited and the government’s plans for economic recovery.

Additionally, he announced that the National Economic Dialogue is scheduled for March 3 and 4, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss strategies for transforming the nation’s economy.

Mr. Ofosu Kwakye further revealed that Finance Minister Ato Forson will present his first budget on March 11.

“The budget will provide a detailed overview of the economic situation, highlight government policies, and outline measures to address the country’s economic challenges,” he added.
