Former President John Dramani Mahama will on Thursday, August 23, declare his intention to lead the National Democratic Congress as its flagbearer ahead of the 2020 elections.
The former president will then pick his forms at the Party’s headquarters at Adabraka in Accra.
Ahead of his declaration, Mr. Mahama on Wednesday called on the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at his office in Accra.

The former Ghanaian Leader whom many had expected to declare his intention will then proceed to one of the regions where he is expected to seek the blessings of nananom and begin his campaign.
His entry into the NDC flagbearer race will bring to an end all the speculations surrounding his return to the lead the party a third time.
Mr. Mahama has already tested the waters with the party’s unity walk that was spearheaded by Kojo Bonsu, a former Mayor of Kumasi, and grounds appear to be so fertile for his coming back.

He will join the likes of the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, former CEO of NHIA, Sylvester Mensah, the poor boy from Binduri, Stephen Atubiga, Prof. Joshua Alabi, Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Hon. Kweku Ricketts-Hagan and Elikplim Agbemava to contest the vacant flagbearer position of the party.
The NDC goes to the polls on December 7, 2018 to elect a flagbearer.
