Mahama reveals $1.7 billion needed to complete unfinished Agenda 111 projects

-

President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that his government will need $1.7 billion to complete the Agenda 111 hospital projects that were left unfinished by the previous administration.

Speaking during a meeting with the Christian Council, Mahama highlighted that nearly 90 hospitals under the initiative remain incomplete. He added that some of the commissioned facilities are also lacking essential medical equipment.

“The previous government started Agenda 111 but was unable to complete many of the hospitals. Even the ones they commissioned don’t have a single bed,” he said, expressing his frustration.

To accelerate the completion of the project, Mahama suggested collaborating with religious institutions, proposing that mission hospitals could take over some of the unfinished facilities.

“If the missions already have a hospital in an area, we will not compete by building another one. Instead, we will invest in improving the mission hospitals so they can offer better services,” he explained.

Mahama reassured that his administration is fully committed to completing the Agenda 111 projects to improve healthcare delivery nationwide.
