Mahama refutes claims that newly recruited security service personnel will be sacked

National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama has refuted claims that he will sack individuals currently undergoing training with the various security services.

According to him, his opponents are spreading falsehoods in most of the training depots, claiming that he will review their recruitment if he wins the December elections.

However, Mahama urged such officers to embrace and accept his resetting agenda, which will improve their lives.

Mahama gave this assurance as part of his Western Regional tour, emphasizing that their jobs will be secured.

The NDC leader and his team received a rousing reception in Shama, where many of the constituents may be interested in the security service recruitment.

It is against this background that John Mahama clarified the issues surrounding new recruits, describing the claims as false.

Mahama argued that the police, military, and other security agencies are all feeling the pinch of economic hardship, and therefore, they should not follow propaganda by politicians in making their decisions.

“There are people undergoing training at some police depots, and the NPP is claiming that we will sack them, but this is not true. They sacked some people we recruited before leaving office and think we will do the same, but we are nothing like them,” he said.

“It is mere propaganda. Every job will be secured, and many more people will be recruited to increase the labor force,” Mahama added.
