Mahama promises Atebubu, Eastern corridor communities reliable electricity

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has pledged to tackle electricity problems affecting communities along the Eastern Corridor of Ghana.

Mr Mahama has promised that the next NDC government would install new electricity substations to enhance power supply in areas such as Yeji, Bimbilla, and Yendi.

The former President pledged while addressing residents of Atebubu in the Bono East Region as part of his campaign tour.

“We understand the struggles you face with low voltage, and it’s due to the absence of substations along the Eastern Corridor. We are committed to finding a lasting solution,” Mr Mahama said.
He added that, the new substations would not only improve power supply but also create opportunities for businesses to thrive and support industrial growth.
Mr Mahama also highlighted his vision to transform agriculture in the region by establishing a Farmers’ Service Centre.
The initiative, he explained would provide farmers will let farmers have access to inputs, extension services, and markets, thereby boosting productivity and fostering economic growth.
Additionally, the NDC flagbearer promised to invest in road infrastructure to connect the Bono East enclave to other regions.
He emphasised the importance of improving infrastructure to facilitate trade, commerce, and tourism, which would drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for citizens.
