President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the immediate reversal of all allocations and sales of land belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed the directive in a Facebook post, stating that the move aims to safeguard state assets and prevent further encroachment on public lands.
The North Tongu MP clarified that the directive specifically affects lands adjacent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry at Airport Residential, which had been claimed by seven organisations and individuals as new owners.
Mr Ablakwa expressed gratitude to President Mahama for what he described as a strong and patriotic intervention.
“I am enormously grateful to President Mahama for his unwavering patriotic and decisive presidential backing,” he stated.
He further assured that under his tenure, no land or property belonging to the ministry—either locally or internationally—would be sold.
“Under my watch as Foreign Minister, no land or property of the Ministry, located either home or abroad, would be sold,” he affirmed, pledging to protect the ministry’s assets from any future attempts at disposal.
