Mahama orders expedited probe into Ahmed Suale, J.B Danquah’s murder

President John Mahama has called for a swift and thorough interrogation of the suspect linked to the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale and former Abuakwa South MP, J.B. Danquah Adu.

Speaking during a courtesy call by a delegation from the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), led by its president, Efua Ghartey, Mahama stressed that interrogating the suspect promptly could lead to further arrests and help bring closure to the cases.

“Investigations into significant killings and murders have remained unresolved. I have urged the police and investigative bodies to take a more proactive approach, especially in cases like that of Ahmed Suale. That is why a suspect has been arrested, and we hope his interrogation will lead to further arrests. There are several other cases, including the JB Danquah case, which must be expedited in terms of prosecution and investigations,” he stated.

Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to upholding human rights and ensuring justice for victims of unresolved murders.

Meanwhile, businessman and former associate of Ahmed Suale, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, was arrested and charged with murder last week.

Additionally, Daniel Asiedu is facing a retrial over the murder of J.B. Danquah Adu following a hung jury verdict in December 2024.
