President John Mahama has appointed former Chief of Staff Prosper Douglas Bani as the National Security Advisor.
Additionally, DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed as the National Security Coordinator, tasked with ensuring a cohesive strategy across all security initiatives.
The appointment, which follows the President’s visit to Bawku where he pledged to prioritise security concerns, was announced in a statement by Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
The statement also announced the appointment of COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.) as the Director of Operations at the Presidency, tasked with overseeing operational effectiveness in security matters.
Charles Kipo was further named as the Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau.
Highlighting the appointees’ wealth of experience and expertise, the statement noted that the appointments reflect President Mahama’s commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring the safety of citizens.
