Mahama is a decent individual – Joyce Mogtari

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President-elect John Mahama, has described him as a dedicated leader with the nation’s best interests at heart.

She expressed confidence that, with the necessary support, Mr. Mahama will fulfill his promises and govern to the satisfaction of all Ghanaians.

Speaking on his character, Mrs. Mogtari noted that Mr. Mahama has endured significant propaganda, often being unfairly portrayed as flawed.

“He has suffered immensely at the hands of propaganda and was maligned in ways that should never have been tolerated,” she remarked, emphasizing his integrity and capability.

“John Mahama is a decent individual,” she stated, adding, “With the right support, he will deliver on his promises and treat everyone with respect.”

Mr. Mahama’s election marks a historic return to the presidency after eight years in opposition.

In his victory speech, he pledged to create jobs, combat corruption, empower women, and improve living conditions across the nation.

The president-elect secured a decisive win in Saturday’s polls, obtaining 6,328,397 votes out of 11,430,531 valid votes cast. His closest contender, outgoing Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, garnered 4,657,304 votes.

As part of the transition process, Mr. Mahama is set to meet with outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo tomorrow, December 11, to form a joint inaugural transitional team.
