President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated a 120-day social contract task force, tasked with monitoring and ensuring the delivery of these social contracts within his first 120 days as president.
The 19-member task force was officially inaugurated at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, 11th February.
In August 2024, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) unveiled its manifesto for the 2024 general elections, presenting an extensive plan aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s economy, easing economic hardships, and ensuring good governance.
Speaking at the launch in Winneba, Mr. Mahama criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for what he described as its “abysmal performance,” highlighting issues such as high inflation, currency depreciation, and rising unemployment.
Mr. Mahama pledged to rejuvenate Ghana’s economy through a 120-day social contract, where he will deliver on some 26 key transformational initiatives.
