President John Mahama has ordered the dissolution of all boards of statutory corporations, commissions, and councils appointed by the immediate past Akufo-Addo administration.
The directive was announced in a statement issued by the Acting Spokesperson to the President and Abura Asebu Kwamankese MP, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
The statement explained that the directive is in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), and takes immediate effect.
It also marks the latest in a series of orders aimed at restructuring state institutions.
The statement, however, clarified that independent constitutional bodies are exempt from this directive.
The affected boards and commissions will be reconstituted in due course, following their respective enabling laws.
