President John Mahama has appointed Mohammed Abdul-Salam as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
A statement signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, noted that the appointment took effect from Wednesday, January 15.
Mr. Abdul-Salam is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Northern Regional Secretary.
His appointment follows the resignation of Sammi Awuku, who is now the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North constituency.
In a letter dated January 13, Mr. Awuku asked the President to appoint a replacement to ensure a smooth transition and handover.
