The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has taken aim at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of failing to deliver on the promise of constructing a harbour and airport for Cape Coast.
This commitment, which was part of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2020 manifesto, remains unfulfilled, and Mahama argues that it reflects a larger issue of unkept promises from the current administration.
Speaking at a recent rally, Mahama stressed that the upcoming 2024 elections should be a referendum on honesty and accountability in leadership.
He expressed disappointment in what he described as a “pattern of deception,” highlighting the harbour and airport projects as examples.
He urged voters to reject what he characterized as the NPP’s dishonesty, contrasting it with what he described as the NDC’s track record of truthfulness and reliability.
“The people of Cape Coast were promised infrastructure and jobs, but those promises remain unfulfilled,” Mahama stated.
Mahama assured that an NDC-led government would prioritize fulfilling campaign promises, focusing on job creation and infrastructure development as critical areas to improve livelihoods across Ghana.
