Maame Yaa Tiwaa touted the best to head CID

-

A security analyst, Adams Bonaa, has challenged critics to name a better senior police officer aside Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to head the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

According to him, the Commissioner of Police, COP, is the best person currently to be Director-General of the Directorate.

Adams Bonaa made this suggestion on The Key Points on TV3/3FM on Saturday, September 21.

He said Ghanaians should separate emotions from professionalism and his research, based on facts, backs COP Addo-Danquah as the best for the job.

This comes in the wake of heightened calls for the head of the Director-General of the CID after it was confirmed the four Takoradi kidnapped girls were dead.

COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah had assured the family last April that the girls had been found and were doing well.

She further assured them that the girls would soon be brought home.

But human remains found from a septic tank near the residence of prime suspect, Samuel Udoetuk-Willis, in a breakthrough in investigations confirmed that the girls were no more.

A deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test run on the human remains confirmed the sets of human remains belong to the girls although this has been rejected by the families.

The families of the girls – Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, Ruth Love Quayson, 18, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 18, and Ruth Abakah, 19 – are mulling a second opinion on the DNA results.

The development questioned the basis for which COP Addo-Danquah said the girls were alive and safe.

There was a social media campaign to have her either dismissed or forced to resign.

The campaing was hash-tagged #TiwaaMustGo.

But Mr Bonaa says these calls are “misplaced”.
