A man of God is not surprised about reports that 80 percent of Christians have been infected with the dreaded Human Immune Virus (HIV).
Rt. Rev. Stephen Bosomtwi Ayensu explained that most of the churches in the country are now breeding grounds for immorality, a situation he described as worrying.

His comment follows an exposé by the Ghana AIDS Commission that Christians constitute about 80% of Persons Living with HIV in Ghana.
Based on this backdrop, the Technical Coordinator for Ghana AIDS Commission, Olivia Graham, said they intend to partner churches to increase awareness and encourage voluntary testing.

But, in an interview on Adom News, RT. Rev. Ayensu said the latest statistics do not suggest the church had failed.
Rather, he said it was evident part-time Christians don’t put into practice the words of salvation preached daily by pastors.

RT. Rev. Ayensu, who is the Superintendent Minister of Calvary Methodist Church at Amakom in the Ashanti region, said they as pastors will try their best but it is up to members to change their ways.
