A 25-year-old man, identified as Fuseni Lukeman Sanche, has been arrested for allegedly raping a pregnant woman at Tijo in the Mion district of the Northern region.
According to reports, the incident happened on December 11, 2019 when the seven-month-old pregnant woman was returning from the farm.
The suspect is said to have attacked her from a nearby bush and forcefully had sex with her.
The woman upon reaching home informed her husband, Musah Braimah who quickly rushed to the police station to lodge a complaint which led to his arrest in his hideout at Tijo.

Confirming the incident to Adom News, the Regional Police Crime Officer, Supt Otuo Acheampong said, the suspect is currently in police custody.
He added the suspect has been charged with rape and he will be put before court on Monday, December, 17 2019.

Meanwhile, the police has issued a medical form for the victim to seek medical attention at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
