The non-refundable amount, according to the flagbearer, Madam Akua Donkor is to demonstrate the commitment of the individual to her dream to transform Ghana if given the nod.

The failed presidential hopeful revealed this in an exclusive interview on Adom FM Tuesday.

Never in the history of Ghana’s politics has a running mate been asked to pay a filing fee.

Over the years, only aspiring presidential and parliamentary candidates of political parties including the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress are required to pay filing fees.

But Madam Donkor explained that, the initiative is to help raise funds for the electioneering campaign.

“My running mate must be rich to support the party during campaign because I have really suffered to build GFP,” she noted.

She said all interested persons can pick nomination forms at party offices across the country.

She added that, she does not want any gold-digger to come and reap where he or she did not sow.

Meanwhile, the GFP flagbearer said plans are far advanced for the party to outdoor its manifesto and campaign songs for the elections.

Madam Donkor is certain this time she will be able to contest the December polls after she and 12 other candidates, were disqualified by the Electoral Commission in 2016 for failing to meet the necessary requirements.
