Some students of the University of Ghana campus say they are living in fear following suspected armed robbery attack on a level 400 student, Daniel Osei.
Vice President of the Students’ Representative Council, Adom Anokwa said before the incident, that particular road had become a favourite zone for robbers due to lack of streetlights, a situation which he believes is heightening fears.

“We are very scared now in the school. That particular place the incident happened does not have streetlights and has become a worry for us all. We are really living in fear,” he said on Accra based Neat FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
The situation, according to them remains the same despite interventions by the police.
The victim, who was said to have been attacked with sharp objects mercilessly along the road leading from Pentagon to Evandy hostel situated on the University of Ghana campus, thereby sustaining several cutlass wounds on his head by the unknown assailants, has been admitted at the 37 Military Hospital and is currently undergoing treatment, according to sources.

Reports suggest that the armed men managed to flee after the incident.
Mr Anokwa said the incident has attracted some personnel from national security to the school’s premises.
He said the student body is in talks with management of the university to plan how security patrol could be deployed to protect the campus.

Their team, he noted, would visit the victim today at the hospital to find out what actually transpired.
