Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities are leading the race to sign Asante Kotoko striker, Songne Yacouba, adomonline.com can exclusively confirm.
The 28-year-old has refused to extend his contract with the Porcupine Warriors. His contract with the club will end in April this year.
The Burkinabe and his representatives have communicated with the hierarchy of the club that the player will only extend his contract with the club for an amount of $150,000.00.
However, Executive Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei has said the club cannot meet the demand of the striker.
Yacouba was dropped for Kotoko’s ‘Super 2 Clash’ against Hearts of Oak in Accra in the matchday five fixture and has since not featured for the club again.
Head coach of the side, Maxwell Konadu has called on the management of the club to resolve any impasse with the player before he features him in any game.
However, Legon Cities who are struggling to score goals in the ongoing Ghana Premier League have identified the dynamic goal poacher as the solution to their goal-scoring problems.
Ashgold are also believed to be interested in Songne Yacouba.
Yacouba joined Asante Kotoko in 2018 on a two-year deal.
