Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has eulogised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his legacy in the Ghana Police Service.

The Police chief said he is a “Legacy President” for the massive infrastructural projects in the service.

IGP highlighted several achievements, including the creation of an emergency medical fund for police officers, the provision of 4,000 motorbikes to boost visibility across the country, the establishment of over 80 Formed Police Units (FPUs) nationwide, improvements in professionalism among officers, and the provision of decent accommodations at Kwabenya and Tesano.

Dr. Dampare made these remarks when President Akufo-Addo commissioned the 320 Security Services Housing Unit project at the Police Training School in Tesano.

On the December elections, he assured that the Police Service will ensure total peace before, during, and after the December general elections.

For his part, Interior Minister, Henry Quartey urged the Police Service to ensure safety across the country, particularly in the election year.

He also cautioned Police officers to keep their barracks in order and avoid placing fridges, bicycles, and other items in the corridors.
