Leaving Kaywa’s label too quickly thought me a lesson – Kurl Songx [Video]

Ghanaian singer Kurl Songx has expressed regret over his decision to leave Kaywa’s Highly Spiritual record label, admitting that he may have acted too hastily.

Reflecting on his journey as an up-and-coming artiste, Kurl Songx acknowledged that there was no need to rush his departure, as he was still in the early stages of his career.

In an interview with Adom TV’s Maame Boatemaa, the “Jennifer Lomotey” hitmaker shared how going independent taught him valuable lessons about the challenges of building a music brand.

However, he didn’t fully grasp the difficulties until after parting ways with the label that had played a crucial role in his rise to fame.

“I realize now that I wasn’t patient enough. I should have taken my time. As a young artiste, I moved too quickly. Being independent isn’t as easy as it seems; you only understand the work involved when you step out on your own. It made me appreciate Kaywa (Papa) even more. It’s not easy for someone to lift you from nowhere. The least I could have done was to be grateful,” Kurl Songx said.
