Latest on NPP Nkawkaw parliamentary seat

-

The National leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has decided to keep its Nkawkaw Member of Parliament(MP), Joseph Frempong on the ballot for the 2024 election.

Adom News’ Akowuah Gyamera Twum reported that, the decision was made at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Wednesday, September 11.

The NPP on September 2 had decided to replace Mr Frempong, who is currently facing health challenges and will be unable to participate in the intensive campaigns required for the upcoming elections.

On the back of the development, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Publishing Company Limited, David Asante was selected as the parliamentary candidate.

Mr. Asante had contested Mr Frempong in the parliamentary primaries on January 28, 2024 but lost.

However, it is not clear what has accounted for the change in the earlier decision.
