Land reforms: Digitalization top agenda as Deputy Lands Minister visits Eastern Regional office

Deputy Lands Minister, Akwasi Konadu, visited the Eastern Regional Lands Commission in Koforidua on Thursday, September 19, 2024, to assess the commission’s activities and challenges.

During his engagement with the management, Mr Konadu emphasized his commitment to addressing key issues hindering land administration and finding sustainable solutions.

The Regional Lands Officer, Mr. Issah Mahama, presented ongoing reforms, including decentralization and digitalization aimed at improving land administration.

He also highlighted major challenges such as land encroachment, insufficient office space, and boundary disputes involving stool lands.

Mr Konadu assured the Commission that these challenges would be tackled to boost efficiency at all levels.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Technical Director of Forestry, Mr. Joseph Osiakwan, Director of PPME, Mr. Matthew Ababio, and other ministry officials.

The Lands Commission remains dedicated to achieving excellence in land services as outlined in Article 238 of the 1992 Constitution.
