Lady Prempeh explains Esther Smith’s concert snub [Video]

-

Gospel singer, Lady Prempeh has taken to TikTok to clarify her absence from the stage during Esther Smith’s highly anticipated concert at the Perez Dome.

The event, which marked Esther Smith’s return to the music scene after a decade, featured several prominent gospel artistes, but Lady Prempeh was notably missing from the lineup of performers, despite being billed for the show.

In her video, Lady Prempeh recounted the events leading up to the concert, explaining that she had been in communication with Esther Smith five months prior when she was first invited to perform at shows scheduled for Kumasi, Accra, and Takoradi.

According to Lady Prempeh, her management had agreed on her participation, and she chose to perform in Accra.

However, about three weeks before the event, Lady Prempeh’s management was informed that due to the number of artistes slated to perform, she would need to choose one region.

She confirmed her choice of Accra and even attended rehearsals.

Yet, Lady Prempeh said she did not get any feedback until the day of the event, when she was informed about a dress rehearsal at the Perez Dome.

After attending the dress rehearsal, she expected to perform at the main event.

However, on the morning of the concert, another performer mentioned that they had not seen her flyer included in the promotional materials.

Despite this, Lady Prempeh assumed it was a mistake, as her manager had been in contact with the event organizers just a week before.

On the day of the concert, Lady Prempeh was present at the venue, but to her surprise, she was not called to perform.

She remained seated throughout the event and was only acknowledged when the show had ended.

The gospel musician expressed her disappointment, stating that she had not received any explanation or communication from Esther Smith, her manager, or anyone else involved with the event since then.

In her message to her fans, Lady Prempeh apologized for not performing since she was not given the opportunity by show organisers.
