The Minister-designate for Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Rashid Pelpuo, has pledged to take decisive action against child labour, ensuring that children are removed from workplaces where they do not belong.
Speaking during his vetting in Parliament on Thursday, January 30, Mr. Pelpuo reaffirmed his commitment to enforcing existing policies designed to eradicate child labour in Ghana.
“The ministry already has a policy approach to this, which aligns with our strategy to fight child labour and liberate our children from the evil of being dragged into workplaces where they don’t belong,” he said.
He assured Parliament of his intention to thoroughly review the Ghana Accelerated Action Plan against Child Labour, promising to strengthen and fully implement it if necessary.
“We won’t reinvent the wheel, but if a review is needed, we’ll ensure it is done effectively,” he added.
