Labour Minister-Designate pledges to prioritise private sector partnership

Minister-designate for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has promised to prioritise the full integration of the private sector into Ghana’s economy to drive sustainable growth and job creation.

According to him, the initiative will not only enhance employment opportunities but also boost Ghana’s overall economic resilience.

Appearing before the Appointments Committee on Thursday, the Wa Central MP, emphasised that a collaboration between the government and the private sector was key for development.

He affirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

“I will ensure that the private sector is fully integrated into our economy because it plays a crucial role in job creation and national development. We must create the right conditions for businesses to expand, innovate, and contribute effectively to economic growth,” he stated.

The nominee highlighted that strategic policies, including access to financing, improved regulatory frameworks, and skills development for the workforce were crucial.
