The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has suspended the operations of the La Traditional Council, effective September 26, 2024.
This decision was made to allow the Regional House and the Ministry to implement proper measures for the smooth functioning of the Council.
In light of the suspension, all government institutions have been advised to refrain from engaging with any individuals claiming to represent the La Traditional Council.
Additionally, all matters related to Paramount Stool Land are to be halted until further notice or the installation of a new La Mantse, as stipulated in section 45 of the Chieftaincy Act.
