The Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim, Dr Prince Hamid Armah has commissioned two ultra-modern six-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities at Whindo MA and Anaji MA Basic Schools in the constituency.

This commissioning of the classroom blocks is part of Dr Armah’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and provide quality learning environments for students in the Kwesimintsim constituency.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, September 19, 2024, brought together local stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Director of Education, and Nana Kwesi Essiam IV, Chief of Whindo, alongside local Assembly Members.

In his speech, Dr Armah who is also the Deputy Works and Housing Minister recounted his initial visit to Whindo MA in 2022, when the school’s infrastructure was in a dire state, with crumbling floors and a dilapidated structure that posed risks to students and staff.

“The commissioning of this ultra-modern KG classroom block, made possible through the generous funding from GETFund, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the future of our children. It reflects our dedication to providing quality learning environments where children can thrive,” Dr. Armah stated.

“Through the HEAL Programme, we are focused on Education & Training, ensuring that the New Kwesimintsim Dream becomes a reality by investing in the early stages of our children’s education.”

Following the commissioning of the new facilities, Dr Armah, along with the MCE visited Whindo MA, Anaji MA, and Ilmunafi B Basic Schools to mark the ‘My First Day at School’ event.

During these visits, he distributed essential learning materials—including books, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners—to young pupils beginning their academic journeys in the newly improved classrooms.

Over the past few days, Dr Prince Armah has commissioned four school projects out of the eight he initiated under his HEAL Kwesimintsim Programme. These include the recently completed Apremdo Kindergarten and Mpatado/Adientem Kindergarten, both of which were commissioned earlier in the week.

Dr Armah’s HEAL Kwesimintsim Programme focuses on various areas including Education and Training, Health, Agriculture, and Leadership. His goal is to create a modern, vibrant constituency with quality infrastructure and opportunities for all.
