To him, one major reason the referendum was cancelled was the government added partisan politics to it which meant government going back on its words.

“The partisan involvement of the election is what has caused all the confusion, the confusion is we voting for the District Chief Executives, Municipal Chief Executives, Unit Committee members and even Assembly men on partisan basis. It was in the manifesto of every political party to amend the bill for MMDCE’s except for the fact that it won’t be on partisan basis,” he said in an interview on Peace FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
He further said the government didn’t make any serious effort in achieving a national consensus.
