Coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Black Stars, James Kwasi Appiah has expressed utmost satisfaction to Ghana’s 2-2 draw game against Benin in their AFCON 2019 opener at the Ismailia Stadium.
Coach Kwasi Appiah was full of awe in his sides display in an encounter that left Ghana finishing the game with ten men for over 30 minutes.
Though he took a swipe at the team’s lack of concentration in the early charges of the game that left Benin scoring early in the game, the former Asante Kotoko coach says he had full confidence in his team to churned out a good results which they did.
He postulates that the team will come better in their next encounter against Guinea Bissau before playing Cameroon in the last fixture of the group.
“It was a good game, we didn’t concentrate in the first half,” Kwasi Appiah realized.
“In the second half it was hard to play with 10 players. A draw is reasonable.”
“I didn’t lose hope in my team and wait for us in the next game.” He said in a post match conference.
Defending champions Cameroon are leading Group F with 3 points after beating Guinea Bissau in the group’s opening game.
