Former Asante Kotoko management member, Kwame Baah Nuako is skeptical about the ability of newly appointed coach of the club, Steve Polack to turn the dwindling fortunes of the club around.
The former Berekum Chelsea trainer Pollack was confirmed as the head coach of the team earlier this week and has been tasked by the management of the club to immediately bring the team back on track after failing to win nine matches on a trout.
According to Mr. Nuako, the club needs a new managerial direction to help the former Berekum Chelsea coach excel but doubts if Polack can turn things around for the club immediately.
“What has changed? Management has not changed, players have not changed, supporters have not changed.” He told Asempa FM.
“I am just saying are they going to behave differently because I don’t expect Steve Pollack to make magic within the next few games.
“I doubt whether he will win two out of four. If he is able to win three out of four that will be an extraordinary performance for a team which is beginning from the scratch but if he is not able to win the next four games what happen? Does that mean he has failed?
“What are their measures of success and what are their targets? They should be leading the discussion. Tell the fans this is where we are now and we don’t think we have played particularly well and this is our target for the season based on where we are now and we should not be thinking about winning the league.
“Let give Steve Pollack the chance and even if he doesn’t win the next three matches it doesn’t mean we should press the panic button again because so far I am not hearing anything from management because they need to set the target and communicate it to the supporters.” He added.
