The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has called for the immediate dismissal of Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Nana B expressed strong disapproval over comments made by Mr. Kwakye Ofosu concerning recent allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering involving two aircraft that transited through Ghana.
Nana B criticised the Abura Asebu Kwamankese MP for publicly downplaying calls for an investigation into the suspected illicit activities, which were brought to light by Assin South MP, Rev. Ntim Fordjour
Rev. Fordjour had alleged that two flights—AirMed flight NH23AM and Cavok Air private jet Antonov AN-12B—landed in Ghana between March 20 and March 25, 2025, allegedly carrying cocaine and a large sum of cash.
In response, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu referred to Rev. Fordjour as a “noisemaker” and remarked that if he were President Mahama, he would have ignored the Ranking Member on the Defence and Interior Committee. Nonetheless, Mr. Ofosu admitted that an investigation was needed to set the right precedent.
Nana B, however, maintained that Mr. Kwakye Ofosu’s comments directly undermined the President’s authority.
“The President directed all security agencies to collaborate with Ntim Fordjour for investigations, and yet you have the Spokesperson, Kwakye Ofosu, contradicting him. He must not remain the President’s Spokesperson—he must be sacked,” Nana B stated.
“We all respect the President and gave him the mandate to lead. Why should Kwakye Ofosu act with such impunity? He’s making a mockery of the number one gentleman of the land,” he added.
Meanwhile, officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) on Wednesday stormed Rev. Fordjour’s residence in Spintex in an attempt to arrest him. However, the operation was halted after NPP members intervened and gathered at the scene.
