Kwaku Bonsam requests bottle, sheep & money from Kotoko to change club’s fortunes

Ghana’s most popular witch doctor Kwaku Bonsam has requested Asante Kotoko to provide some items to enable him restore the club back to its glory days.

Kwaku Bonsam, whose name translates literally as ‘Devil of a Wednesday-born male’ had earlier last month claimed he has cursed the Porcupine Warriors for being ungrateful.

Kotoko, who started the season on a good note, unbeaten in first five matches, all of a sudden lost their mojo and failed to impress, causing the dismissal of Croatian trainer Zdravko Logarusic, assistant coach Michael Osei and former player Frimpong Mnaso.

The club subsequently went in for Englishman Steve Pollack, who has asked supporters to be patient with the players.

Kwaku Bonsam, explaining Kotoko’s fortunes in an exclusive interview with TV3, recounted what led to the situation.

He, however, remains open to helping them out of their predicament.

“Last year, four boys from Kotoko came to me in Accra to consult me that they want me to help [Kotoko] win an upcoming game against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.

“They texted me names of the players of both teams so I gave them my medicine when I was going to South Africa.

“Somewhere in 2000, I worked with Kotoko more than six to seven years and when the goal comes they start to insult me so I told them Hearts of Oak will always beat Kotoko.

“They were saying it’s management, it’s the coach but I told them that they could go and bring Coach Mourinho Baccino or Otto Pfister but it still won’t work.”

“I only need one of this bottle [holding a bottle], a sheep and a fat envelope and bring it and I will use that to do the rituals and sacrifices and everything is going to be okay”.
